Voice over Internet Protocol, also called Voice over IP, VoIP, is a group of resources that enable the voice signal to travel over the Internet using an IP (Internet Protocol). This means that sends the voice signal in digital form instead of sending it via telephone circuits used only as a conventional phone company.
VoIP uses Internet Protocol to route and deliver calls as they are sending data and video to reduce call charges between sites.
The main advantage of this service is that it avoids the high prices phone (mostly on long distance calls) that are used in telephone companies. The savings in cost is due to using a single network to carry voice and data, especially when users have not used the full capacity of its existing network, which can be used for VoIP.
